In the 1980s the small airport in Arkansas known as Mena became part of the largest covert operation in history. Under the disguise of an “aircraft refurbishing center”, Mena was an arms and drug smuggling ring working for President Ronald Reagan’s Contra war against the Sandinistas. It’s now referred to as the Iran-Contra scandal. Although, the truth, as it happened has never been revealed to the public.
